Katarzyna Horzela ( Ka Ho ) is a 2nd year Production Design student in IADT, Ireland. Originally from Poland, she is inspired by Slavic culture and the sophisticated style of modern stage design from Appia’s designs, Bauhaus to Robert Wilson’s work. Her interests are focused around visual development, set dressing and production design for stage and screen. Since she arrived in Ireland in 2009 she has worked in film and theatre productions. Courses from Wimbledon College in London and Pinewood Studios influenced her to continue education to become a more conscious and ambitious designer. Training from the Animation course in Ballyfermot College gave her knowledge about setting the stage, visual development and drawing skills so useful in film and theatre work. It was in IADT where she discovered a new way of creating visual language for screen and performance.
In free time she practices drawing skills and learning new languages. She likes to read books and travel. She has strong drawing skills and visual sense. Autocad, Rhino and Photoshop are the most often programs used by her to support her work development.
